Een (t)huis voor klinkende hersenspinsels

Juan Martin Monte Casablanca (°1980) was born in Argentina in a family full of artist, painters, actors, photographer, writers, and filmmakers.

Juan begins his journey as a constant immigrant that will later shape his view through the lens.

 

His first steps into the world of filmmaking and photography were made under the wing of his father at 14 years old, carrying cables setting up lights and running around film sets doing errands. Until this day he is an autodidact photographer.

​

In 2001 the family moves to Nicaragua and Juan starts to work at Erimotion, a groundbreaking A&V production company doing camera, scriptwriting and directing a TV show and publicity.

​

In 2011 Juan started to work at Difuso A&V in charge of directing publicity and propaganda for the Sandinista Government in Nicaragua, from 2013 to 2016 directing the Tourism Campaign “pride of my country” (Orgullo de mi Pais) traveling the country with a film and photography crew tapping the raw beauty of the Nicaraguan landscapes and its people.

In 2017 he decides to make the move to Europe, Belgium to be precise, looking new stories to tell. For some people home is a backpack, a camera and some old boots.

Romane Claus (°1994) is een audiovisuele kunstenaar en filmmaker voornamelijk actief in het domein van de animatiefilm.

 

In haar werk speelt ze met schalen, een fascinatie die afkomstig is van het op maat gemaakte stop-motion decor. Er wordt gespeeld met de verwachtingen van de kijker door een fictieve wereld voor te stellen waarin het niet duidelijk is wat daarvan echt of fictie is. Miniatuur sculpturen worden al fotograferend in scène gezet, staan in een installatie of fungeren als props in het decor van een animatiefilm.

 

Romane woont en werkt te Antwerpen.
